Understanding your bill

Information on how to access services for customers relating to your bill such as:

• interpreter services for people from all linguistic background to communication with us in their preferred spoken language
• hearing services for people who are deaf or have a hearing or speech impairment
• concessions that may be available to you
• payment and hardship assistance options

This is where you’ll find information about your energy plan, such as:

• your network tariff type
• your 100% GreenPower offset allocation
• renewable energy project

This shows your account balance on the date the invoice was issued. The amount shown here also includes any balance from previous billing periods.

It’s important to know that any payments made 2 business days prior may not be reflected in the balance shown.

Here you’ll find details about your meter reads taken, detailing your usage amounts in kilowatts per hour (kWh).

In this section, you may see the following letters:

• A – stands for Actual, meaning the consumption shown is based on an actual reading of your meter.
• S – stands for Substitute, meaning your metering company hasn’t been able to read your meter and has given us substitute consumption data.
• E – stands for Estimated, meaning your metering company hasn’t given us an actual read, so the consumption shown is an estimate based off your past usage patterns.
• F – stands for Final Substitute, meaning your metering company hasn’t been able to read your meter and can’t get an actual read for this period. That means that this substitute consumption data is final and will not be replaced.
• NA – stands for Not Applicable, meaning your current and previous meter reads have not been provided by your meter provider or your distributor.

What does this mean for your bill?

Current meter reads may be lower than previous meter reads if you have recently had a smart meter upgrade or meter reset. Meter reads times are shown in AEST.

Here you’ll see an overview of your charges, split by charge type.

• daily supply charge, which is a fixed daily amount that is charged as part of the metering and distribution services provided by the Network Distributor that looks after your area
• your base rate, inclusive of the benchmark Price Efficiency Adjustment (PEA)
• any solar feed-in tariff
• your PEA, which is a measurement of how efficient your usage patterns were for the month against the average Flow Power residential energy user

This section will cover any additional charges that relate to this billing period. The most common additional charges are move in fees, or late payment fees.

Here you can see via some handy charts:

• your average daily usage in kWh and cost per day for the past 12 months
  • If you have solar, your average feed in tariff cost and usage per day
• your emissions for this bill, calculated from your recorded usage data. Remember, all your energy usage is 100% GreenPower. GreenPower offsets 100% of your electricity with renewables that have zero net greenhouse gas emissions
• how your usage compares to households of similar sizes
